To mark World Day for Physical Activity on 6 April, thousands of people of all ages attended the 8th Agita Mundo Walking event – the organisers estimated 20,000 people of all ages took part in the 90-minute walk, which began near the Museum of Art of São Paulo and wound through the streets to the Legislative Assembly.
The theme of this year’s World Day for Physical Activity is ‘active neighbourhood builds health’. The event was created by the Agita Mundo Network, which mobilises thousands of participants in more than 6,000 events around the world. As just one example, in Indianapolis there were fun exercise classes aimed at Baby Boomer-age people, as well as a Kid's Zone for children aged five and over
