New online health journal

14 May 2008 | 'Cases Journal' aims to publish and create library of 1000s of case reports
| 14 May 2008

A new online journal, Cases Journal (click here >>), has just launched. It is an open access, peer-reviewed online journal that publishes case reports from any area of medicine - and will publish any report that is understandable, ethical, authentic, and includes all information essential to its interpretation. The case reports will be aggregated into a database, which will allow users to search for case reports to find cases of most relevance to interests.

Because aggregating the articles in a database in this way makes every case important, the editors welcome submission of 'everyday' cases as well as rare disorders or unusual events. Case reports with negative as well as positive outcomes are welcome. The journal aims to publish thousands of case reports - many more than any other medical journal - and each case report will be subject to screening by the editorial team, and reviewed by at least one member of the Editorial Board. The name and comments of the Editorial Board member handling each manuscript will be published with the article online.

This is an interesting interactive online project – we hope that you will submit case reports and spread the word about the journal. There is also the opportunity to comment on the case reports.

For more details, see the journal's website.
